A Mobilize alternative for the shifts nobody signs up for

Mobilize is an event sign-up tool. People browse events and pick a time slot. We have event pages too. But we are built around the shifts that must be covered whether or not anyone signs up.

What each tool is for

Mobilize is part of Bonterra, alongside NGP VAN (the party voter file) and EveryAction. Campaigns post events there and supporters pick a time. Its strength is reach. An event can go out to people who have never heard of your race.

We start from the coverage map. We build your shift grid from your election calendar. We book named people to specific sites and turfs.

We flag anyone booked twice. We rank who to ask for each gap. And we build the director a coverage report, emailed at 7am during early voting.

We post public events with time slots and sign-ups too. So a phone bank or a training can be self-serve while your election day grid stays staffed by hand.

Where Mobilize fits next to us

If you need strangers to find your events, keep Mobilize for the top of the funnel. Then export the sign-ups. Our importer reads the spreadsheet, merges duplicates, and the new names land on the grid ranked by ward.

Our own event pages cover the self-serve cases inside your program. Phone banks. Trainings. House parties. Those sign-ups feed the same list and the same record of who shows up.

The honest trade

If your field program is a calendar of events, and your question is how many people sign up, Mobilize gives you real reach and we will not replace it.

If your program is a map of places, and your question is whether all of them are covered from 6am on election day, a sign-up tool leaves you building the real schedule in a spreadsheet.

We are $99 a month, and 14 days is long enough to schedule a real Saturday.

Mobilize questions

Does Capstone Volunteer have event pages like Mobilize?

Yes. Every event gets a public page with time slots, a cap, sign-ups, a confirmation email with an add-to-calendar link, and reminders. What we do not have is Mobilize's network for reaching people outside your list.

Can we use both?

Yes, and many campaigns should. Recruit with Mobilize. Then import the sign-ups here so those people can be booked on the coverage grid with everyone else.

What do you do that Mobilize does not?

The coverage side. A shift grid from your election calendar. Named people at specific sites. Double-booking checks. Ranked people to ask. A daily coverage report. Mobilize is built around events people opt into. Coverage is about shifts that must be filled either way.

Know by Friday who is covering Saturday

  • Every shift sits on one grid, from canvass launches to election day.
  • The gap panel ranks who to ask by ward and by who shows up.
  • Reminders go out the day before, and no-shows are tracked.

The gap panel tells you who to text for each open shift. In a 2020 test with 1,220 volunteers, people asked by text showed up more than 3 times as often as people sent only an email. Read the study.

More ways to pay: card, Cash App, Link, or Amazon Pay.

Nothing is charged for 14 days. We email you 3 days before. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.
