Ecanvasser competitors and alternatives for canvass launches
Ecanvasser is a canvassing app. It cuts turf on a map, runs a door-knocking app with surveys, and records what each canvasser found. We handle the other half of the same Saturday: who is coming.
What each tool is for
Ecanvasser owns the doors. Which homes are in your universe. How the turf is cut into walk lists. What the script asks. What each canvasser wrote down at each door.
We own the coverage. The launch is a place. The canvass block is a shift. The same grid holds your phone banks, your early voting sites, and election day.
So one person cannot be booked at two of them. The gap panel ranks who to ask for each open turf. And the coverage report tells you which launches are short before the packets are printed.

They meet at the launch table
Cut the turf in Ecanvasser on Thursday. That same day, the launch is already a shift here with eight seats, five filled, and three people to ask who live in the ward.
Friday, the queue confirms the eight. Saturday morning, the coverage report shows every launch and its coverage. At the table, each person gets a turf.
After the launch, attendance comes back here while the door results stay in Ecanvasser. The full pattern is on the canvassing software page.
The honest trade
If you only canvass, and your list is small enough to run in a group chat, Ecanvasser alone may be enough.
If the same people also phone bank, greet voters, and work election day, your schedule has to live somewhere that sees all of it.
That is what we built. We are $99 a month, import your list from a spreadsheet, and 14 days free is long enough to staff a real launch.

Ecanvasser questions
Do you cut walk lists or turf?
No. Turf cutting and the door app are Ecanvasser's job. We schedule the canvassers, confirm them, and track who walked. That is the half most launches lose.
Can we use both?
Yes, and that is the point. Cut in Ecanvasser. Staff here. Meet at the launch table. Your canvasser list moves over as a spreadsheet export, duplicates merged.
What if we only canvass?
Then ask whether your problem is the doors or the people. If launches come up short and you cannot say who will show, we fix that. If the doors are the problem, we will not.
Who are Ecanvasser's competitors?
For political canvassing, the main Ecanvasser competitors are MiniVAN from NGP VAN, Qomon, and NationBuilder. Capstone Volunteer works next to any of them to staff the canvass.
Is Capstone Volunteer an Ecanvasser alternative?
For staffing, yes. Ecanvasser runs the doors. Capstone Volunteer books canvassers into launch shifts and tracks who came. Many campaigns use both.

Know by Friday who is covering Saturday
- Every shift sits on one grid, from canvass launches to election day.
- The gap panel ranks who to ask by ward and by who shows up.
- Reminders go out the day before, and no-shows are tracked.
The gap panel tells you who to text for each open shift. In a 2020 test with 1,220 volunteers, people asked by text showed up more than 3 times as often as people sent only an email. Read the study.
